When I think about a message I want to share, I think about this Mary Kay Ash quote I've always liked: “Aerodynamically, the bumble bee should not be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know, that so it goes on flying anyway." My first and most popular design features a bumblebee, which for me represents overcoming adversity even when the task at hand seems improbable.

The most rewarding part has been seeing my vision completed. It is rewarding to see my sketch/thumbnail get turned into a completed art piece that my friends and family can admire with me. The most challenging part is working with unknown mediums/techniques; but I also enjoy this since I get to expand my creativity.

I hope to be able to share happiness through my business. Part of what I do in my business is create custom designs and inquiries for customers. An example of this is how I recently made a baby announcement onesie and the customer shared with me her family's reaction to the reveal of the onesie. Experiences and moments like that are what I hope to share with people through my business!

For me, the most rewarding part of designing something from scratch is seeing the final product. When I make crochet products, I get to watch as a single string somehow grows into a bee, or a sweater, or a flower! It demands a lot of patience and persistence, but it’s totally worth it when my creativity is realized.

The most rewarding part of my creative process is the finish. When you start out with a project in mind, looking at a blank page and trying to think how you can get from point A to point B, it can be difficult to know if it will turn out how you imagined, but when it turns out better than you could have ever imagined, that’s the most rewarding part. And if it doesn’t, you always can try again.

I believe that being surrounded by other creators will inspire me to continue following my passions. My art has definitely impacted my experience as a student. I attended MIAD and it allowed me to meet different people and explore different ideas. Their walk in screen printing lab is what got me into shirt design, as I originally tried to make merch for the boxing club here as we didn’t have the money to sell merch . My time here on campus has also impacted my journey as I’ve gotten a lot of support from friends and people in my community.

The most rewarding is definitely getting orders from people gifting a design for their special person. Knowing that the shoes are going to be a surprise to the owner is really fun and motivating for me. The most challenging part has definitely been testing my design skills. I try to constantly go bigger and better with every design that comes in, and so far they've all come out really nice!
