OLIVIA STROM
2026 + Finance and Acceleration in Markets (AIM)
Owner of Bee Well Stationery
When I think about a message I want to share, I think about this Mary Kay Ash quote I've always liked: “Aerodynamically, the bumble bee should not be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know, that so it goes on flying anyway." My first and most popular design features a bumblebee, which for me represents overcoming adversity even when the task at hand seems improbable.

SOPHIA SANDOVAL
2025 + CRLS (Criminolgy and Law Studies) Pre-Law Scholar
Owner of epda (El Poder de Alondra)= The Power of Alondra
The message I hope to send is that, your life should be entirely customizable to you. There’s no need to fit in to certain trends when you can set the trend for yourself! To be uniquely you is the best thing you can do.

JONALIE ZAMORA
2026 + Marketing and Information Systems
Owner of Little Artsy Aloe
For me, the most rewarding part of designing something from scratch is seeing the final product. When I make crochet products, I get to watch as a single string somehow grows into a bee, or a sweater, or a flower! It demands a lot of patience and persistence, but it’s totally worth it when my creativity is realized.

MAEVA KLEINOFEN
2025 + Accounting and French
Owner of CrochetByMae
The most rewarding part of my creative process is when I finish the first product for a new pattern. Even with mistakes, it shows all the effort I have put into the process so far. The first product for me always needs improvements, and shows where I can grow. It acts as a great starting point to improving!

MIGUEL BASURTO
2026 + Computer Science
Owner of Miggy's Artworks
The most rewarding part has been seeing my vision completed. It is rewarding to see my sketch/thumbnail get turned into a completed art piece that my friends and family can admire with me. The most challenging part is working with unknown mediums/techniques; but I also enjoy this since I get to expand my creativity.

MOLLY BEARDSLEY
2026 + Nursing
Owner of Molly’s Sun-Printed Tees
I hope that my business inspires others to try new things and to explore their creative side! I feel like many people put a limit on their creativity because they’re not good at “drawing or painting”, but art takes on so many other forms. I truly believe there is a niche for everyone!

KARLYE KRIEWALDT
2026 + Biological Sciences
Owner of KrieativeJewelry
My ultimate goal for my business is to continue to be able to design and create new jewelry while also improving my skills and learning new techniques from others. I would love to incorporate new techniques for making things into my designs which could be learned through Student-Made connections. I would love to grow this business to the point where I am able to sustainably get my original designs produced in metal for all of my jewelry.

DREW GOETZ
2028 + Finance
Owner of Urbane Aromatics
Running a business while being a student has pushed me to be more disciplined, creative, and resourceful. My campus has been a great place to test ideas, meet potential customers, and find people who genuinely support what I’m building. It’s also made me think bigger—seeing what’s possible beyond just being a student.

MARIAM ALI
Graduate Student + Political Science
Owner of South through East
My art has definitely impacted my experience as a student. I attended MIAD and it allowed me to meet different people and explore different ideas. Their walk in screen printing lab is what got me into shirt design, as I originally tried to make merch for the boxing club here as we didn’t have the money to sell merch . My time here on campus has also impacted my journey as I’ve gotten a lot of support from friends and people in my community.

REBECCA ODEH

My ultimate goal is to spread a message of good vibes and mental health across the country. I want more people to hear about this good cause and be a part of it so that we can spread the care for mental health around the world. Student-Made can help with spreading the word about my company!

LORIANN CHAVEZ
2027 + Cognitive Science
Owner of CraftyJewelsByL
I hope that I can bring a little bit of joy to members of my communities. College can be a challenging time for so many people, so I want to play a role in adding some joy to people’s days. Even if that is as simple as someone smiling when they look down at their wrist and see a bracelet I’ve made, I believe small gestures can add up to make a significant difference. I believe that being surrounded by other creators will inspire me to continue following my passions. I am excited to see the ways in which other members of Student-Made are sharing their creations with the world.

RILEY CONDON
2026 + Information Systems, Entrepreneurship and French
Owner of MacarOnTheGo
The most rewarding part has been creating my own original recipes. After a while of tweaking and making minor changes to authentic French macaron recipes, I have been able to come up with my own fun flavors and spins on recipes to enhance the flavor and creativity that goes into each one! It is so rewarding to watch someone else take a bite of one of my macarons and feel so much joy from one small bite! The main challenge I face is failure. Of course, everyone faces some sort of failure with anything you work hard at. However, it can be difficult to push through and stay motivated when macaron shells fail to come out successfully. They take a lot of precision in terms of temperature, mixing, and ingredients. So remembering to have patience and finding learning points from mistakes has been key to pushing through those hard times!

MUSKAAN KAUR
2026 + Marketing and Journalism
Owner of the Bag Bazaar
Art has always helped me heal and move on in my life. It has given me immense joy and an appreciation for taxing hard work that some artists do. It has given me a different perspective to live my life. I do feel quite lucky that I have mentors that are ready to help every step of the way to achieve my goals no matter how far they might seem to me. And always believing in me. Campus has also made me realize to not be hesitant of showing your talents, no matter how ordinary. It still matters.

TESSA HOLLANDER
2027 + Civil Engineering
Owner of Tailor-Made by Tessa
The most rewarding is definitely getting orders from people gifting a design for their special person. Knowing that the shoes are going to be a surprise to the owner is really fun and motivating for me. The most challenging part has definitely been testing my design skills. I try to constantly go bigger and better with every design that comes in, and so far they've all come out really nice!
